I grew up in Cleveland Ohio in a creative home. My dad made kites, my mom wrote poetry and they both created a beautiful home. We had a big paneled window which both delighted me and also scared. me. This piece was made while thinking about my past, how my parents helped shape my creative spirit and how we continue to look inwards and outside of ourselves throughout our lives. My dad made kites and we went to a lot of kite festivals in my childhood. I have always loved watching kites fly as there is a sense of freedom in seeing something sore.
